I far preferred the one-off gags to the storyline. Maybe it’s just a different style of humour, but I didn’t find any of the 6 story strips funny (#2 was average). I thought the same about the “The Job” storyline. Personally, I think I just prefer the one-off gags / observations (#26, #29, #30).
Liking the comic overall enough to keep reading it though! Keep it up!
I liked the first 6 part comic better. The snug wow was pretty cool but the storylines work better if the characters are going somewhere. Your webcomic is pretty cool. Keep up the good work.
I enjoy having a mixture, sometimes having the running storyline, sometimes just a one off gag. Keeps it diverse and stops the humour going stale.
Heh, next person has to come up with a different perspective to keep the ball rolling. I think the only one left is just to hate the comic overall, right? =P
@Tom Fletcher Thanks for being honest, I hear what you are saying. I think it’s harder to make a storyline that’s as funny as a one-off gag, so I think I’m going to still try and do it once in a while (at most once a month) just for the practice… hopefully they will get better.
Another thing I want to try is to have a 6-comic storyline where its more of one-gag a day but with an overlying theme. Either way, I’m glad you like the rest of the strip and I hope you keep reading.
@The0Burger0King Interesting point, perhaps I should have had a comic or two of the Inventor at work wearing the snug-wow and getting his co-workers reactions… Thanks!
@Dylan Well at the most I’ll only do a storyline one week a month, so even if you hate them there will still be plenty of one-off strips.
well as a recent convert I kinda liked the 6 parter. Also the frequent updates always make me happy. I guess the thing about one-offs is that if you are a new reader it might not be the best place to walk in… so I guess it will depend on “building regular readers” and a balance of making regular readers happy too.
The “gator” joke was the perfect ending. I remember being horrified when my super wore them. HORRIFIED. They were bright yellow too.
@ClockworkZero That’s a good point, I think the 6-parters give an idea of the characters personality, and the next one kind of introduces a new character that I can then go and put into the one-offs.
Ha, thanks, yeah I had a similar experience when a friend started wearing bright orange crocs… we don’t talk anymore… (jk )
I enjoy the storylines just as much as the one-offs, but for different reasons. The stories give the characters… well, character! While the one-offs are just fun and goofy. I think you’re on the right track with mixing both styles. By building characters with the stories, you have the capability of increasing the humor of the one-offs by playing off their traits.
The thing about storylines is that not every part may be funny or have a punchline, and that’s OK!
Also this is my first ever attempt at a comic with recurring characters, so I’m still new at the whole storyline and character personality thing, hopefully I’ll get better!

omg … crocs are so …. stupid.
@moni_Bologna true, but they are the perfect accessory to a snuggie!
lol sad and true
gross + gross = super gross, lol
lol…..
That outfit would scream “socially awkward!”
or perhaps “unstable”
hahahaha very true!
The bad thing is that im usually the one who is friend with the person with crocs or snuggies…..
Maybe that is a reflection of my weirdness lol…
lol, could be!
I saw they had a comic book themed snuggie in the store and almost bought it… almost
heehee i think that could be forgiven.
I almost bought a Cardinals and Raiders one cuz i like those teams. …. ALMOST
lol, it was on sale for $10, if it had been under $5, then maybe, but I would wear it like a robe….
you better! lol
lol, of course!
