Comic #52 – The Snow Shovel Equivalent

Sometimes, I just don’t think these inventions through… but technically they work!

    Hahahaha!!

    Thats funny =)

I think its more funny cuz on the video it would shovel a little snow at a time.

    This is too funny. =)

    • stupidinventor

Yeah after trying the snow shoe shovel in real life, I would not recommend using it… :)

      • moniBologna

maybe if you had a tiny backyard =) or a garden. =)

        • stupidinventor

lol, yeah but its hard to walk in the shoe shovel, :)

          • moniBologna

You should make it able to fold up but lock in the down position, this way it will be sturdy when you pick something up but it can fold when you are walking. do you understand ?

            • harpocrates23

even better, add a layered hollow rubber sole below the original sole of the shoe. This would work as a compartment for the shovel. The system could bring out the shovel with a spring mechanism which would work with the push of a button placed on the side of the shoe. When you needed the shovel you tapped the button on the side (you could even just press your shoe on a wall or something so you dont bend over), shovel the poop, then push the shovel spring mechanism back where it would lock back in the “secret” compartment. this way it would look like a normal shoe (with a higher sole).

              did i confuse anyone? :p

              • moniBologna

                :P i understood.

how would you get it back in? with your hands? …. ew

                • harpocrates23

no..you would push it back in against the floor and it would lock back in place…the spring would be strong enough to hold it in plase for it to shovel poop, but would give way to direct force against a wall or the floor. i even drew it:

                  What do you think?

(going to try html to see if it embeds it in here :p)

                    *Place

darn typos…also forgive the terrible sktching but i did it in 1 minute to illustrate my point. Also the embed works but only links..doesnt place in comment. :)

                • moniBologna

now i get ya!!! =) of course there couldnt be too much of a handle or you wouldnt be able to bend your foot. but yur design is good

                  • harpocrates23

thanx. Its all thanx to StupidInventor :) .

Btw, which motorbike would you vote on?

                    • moniBologna

                      the black one.

                      i like black

                    • harpocrates23

Well I want the black one but due to distances here in Massachusetts I got the blue one (Versys 650) and it was last year in april when I was going to get them. My last one was blue too…i like blue :)

                    • moniBologna

                      My mother likes blue.

My actual favorite colors are Hot Pink and Lime/Neon Green

But i wear Black shirts and blue jeans. :D

                    • stupidinventor

                      Lol great sketch!

Maybe we can do this to one of those Heely Skate Shoes thing so you can scoop and run!

                      (dont know anything about bikes…)

                    • moniBologna

                      Even better idea :D

  2. harpocrates23

I hate shoveling snow….If my sister wasnt living in MA before I came back to the states, I would not have chosen this state to find work…I like places that it never snows :P

    • stupidinventor

I usually enjoy shoveling the first one or two times… after that I get sick of it…
But in warm places you dont get snow days! :)

      • harpocrates23

I got 1 snow day this year at work and a lot more days with snow…the balance was not good :P

        • stupidinventor

oh that stinks, I missed a ton of class because of it, so I didn’t mind shoveling it that much…

  3. moniBologna

it never snows in Phoenix. =) I like snow but living without it is nice too. =)

Maybe i can use the snow shovel to shovel rocks out of my drive way… =)

    • stupidinventor

Well the original purpose of the shoe shovel was to pick up after your dog without having to use your hands…

      • moniBologna

heeehee i can use it that way! =)

      • harpocrates23

and how do you pick it up after you shovel it…cause here in the US you have to pick it up…so after its in the shovel..then what? :P

        • moniBologna

          a bag silly =)

          • harpocrates23

that defies the whole purpose of not picking up after your dog…thats what I mean. how about a shoe shovel which scoops directly into a bag behind it…or something :P

            • moniBologna

              ………………….. thats awesome

              • harpocrates23

After more thought I realised..you still have to pickup the darn bag…maybe in the future we can make self combustible bags that will disintegrate along with the poop in them…

                • moniBologna

how bout we just dont feed our dogs? lol jk

                  • stupidinventor

well here is the video of me using the shoe shovel for dog poo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O22KKy9d5g8

I think they theres an infomercial product that just came out to clean up after your dog, ill go try to find the link :)

                    • moniBologna

i saw that vid and i thought it was funny. =)

  4. The0Burger0King

Get a SNOWBLOWER! Coolest snow removal method ever!
I’m also sad that school kept me from making a stuid invention…

    • harpocrates23

yes well….it still requires effort…thats the whole problem…I am an engineer…therefore Lazy (“Progress is made by lazy men looking for easier ways to do things”)…erm progressive…I’d rather not have to do anything.

If I buy a house I think I’m ripping up the concrete and installing heaters underneath that can be turned on and melt the snow away.

      • moniBologna

just live in a place where it doesnt snow

      • The0Burger0King

Maybe we should convince the stupid inventor to create a weather machine…

        • moniBologna

then we could make it snow in Phoenix!! =)

          • The0Burger0King

And make it never snow in Maryland

            • Moni Bologna

              no! … only Phoenix. :D

              jk jk

              Maryland AND Phoenix!!

              • harpocrates23

how about we give you our snow….we dont really want it or need it.. :p

                • moniBologna

                  lol … well…. only a little bit :D :P

    • stupidinventor

Sorry The0Burger0King, im sure ill have another contest at one point!

But wouldnt the melted snow turn to ice, harpocrates23? My friend wanted to try and build a snow shovel roomba for his senior design project, but I think he gave up on that idea, lol.

Without snow you couldnt sled or build snowmen! gotta love a little snow!

      • harpocrates23

I love snow when I go find it and snowboard…not when it finds me and I shovel it.

As for the ice, have an automatic salt dispenser after it melts the snow…like maybe a salt sprinkler system. First melt snow, then cover it with salt…why are we engineers if we dont automate everything? :P

        • stupidinventor

          lol, sounds like a plan!
Let’s get a prototype going and patent this thing!
