This feature drives me crazy!??!!
Has anybody ever used it?
FYI: I’m going to be away from my computer the next two days so I’m uploading Mondays comic now…enjoy!
Oh, and when did we jump to 80 subscribers? Last I checked we only had 34! Coolio!

A serious reply:
Sometimes the sort high-to-low lets you skip thousands of accessories to find the real item you are looking for. Imagine you search for computer, and sort low to high.
The first items will be computer pads, computer stands, computer accessories, and computer widgets. Only after wading through the eBuy’s entire catalog of cheap computer junk, will you finally come to the actual computers.
Now, if you were sorting high-to-low, you’d find the high-end computer, the medium-range computer, and then the cheap computer, finally followed by the cheap computer junk. All you have to do is stop after some minimum price for computers – I personally find they don’t sell any computers less than ~$200.
Yes, that makes sense when using sites like ebay or google product search.
But what I really meant was online stores, since they have things in set categories, so if you were in the computer section, they would only have computers. Or an online clothing store, when they would only have shirts, you know?
Still, I guess you have a point, it is useful sometimes, I was just shopping for socks and the High-Low option just seemed ridiculous in that situation.
Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment!

Bill Gates does lol
lol, actually I bet he doesn’t, he’s super rich and still dresses like he did before Microsoft… gotta give him credit for that…
I’ve programmed such things before. It’s mainly just a case of “heck, why not?” You add the “what to sort by” list and the “reverse the sort” option, and then it’d usually take more effort not to show the reverse option every time. So you end up being able to reverse any sort, whether there’s a good reason for it or not.
Ahh, that makes sense… wasn’t thinking of it from a design point of view.
I would just love to see the guy/girl who wants to find the most expensive pair of socks… I think it’s that image that made me want to draw this comic (the 3rd panel especially…)
lol thats funny. I’ve actually wondered that myself.
lol, it doesn’t keep me up at night, but it’s definitely something to ponder…
